Edition 01, I Hear Your Breath
This collection is about listening.
Listening to what's beginning, what's quietly taking shape, what hasn't quite formed yet. Each image is a threshold: the moment just before, or just after. What interests me is not the perfection of life, but its promise. I wanted to capture these fragile presences, these tiny beginnings, these unspoken connections. To offer them slowness, texture, a wall to rest on. So that we, in turn, can hear them breathe.
Ten still lifes, photographed one by one over two years, in the south, in the morning light. Nothing spectacular: simple things, observed for a long time.
Collected in Edition 01, signed and numbered.
Paper was no longer enough for us. An image printed on linen is experienced differently. It moves. It catches the light. It ages with the room.
You no longer look at it, you encounter it. Mariya explains this choice in why I print my still lifes on linen.
The wood comes from reuse: sourced, already lived, hand-sanded in the workshop. Each stick carries a story, a color, a grain.
No two are identical.
Edition 01 features ten images, in a very small series. When a print is sold out, it's gone. We prefer to keep the image rare.
An Edition 02 will come. We'll talk about it here, when the time is right.
